About Matthew 6:33
This verse comes near the end of Jesus’ teaching on worry in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 6:25–34). After pointing to the birds and the lilies, he says: seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. “These things” are food, drink and clothing, the needs he has just told his listeners not to worry about. The next verse closes the passage: don’t be anxious about tomorrow.
