A Morning Prayer for Hope and New Beginnings

Why the morning is made for starting over

There’s a promise tucked into the sunrise that scripture keeps pointing at. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

New every morning. Not recycled from yesterday. Not reduced by what you got wrong last week. Fresh.

That means a new beginning isn’t something you have to engineer. It’s something God offers with the light each day. Your part is to receive it and step in.

Father, thank you that your mercies are new this morning, and so is this day. I don’t want to carry yesterday’s weight into it. I don’t want to drag old fears down a new road. Fill me with hope, the kind that comes from you and not from my circumstances. Help me believe that today can be different, and that you go ahead of me into it. This is a new beginning. • Refuse to relitigate yesterday. A new beginning can’t start if you keep dragging the old day into it. Let it stay behind you.
