About Psalm 4:8
Psalm 4 is an evening psalm. David, under pressure from people who doubt and slander him, ends by lying down: in peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me live in safety. It is traditionally prayed at night prayer and is one of the most direct sleep verses in the Bible. (German Bibles number it Psalm 4:9, because they count the heading as verse 1.)
